My Buddy and Me

I know I've said it before, but these are the moments I live for as a mother. Moments I'm thankful I captured on camera. Moments etched in my mind forever. Moments that get me emotional with tears of gratefulness and joy because God has given me the gift of motherhood. They might not look like much and it's a little bit of a random group of pics, but really they're pure, simple moments I thank God for.

She's such a good little helper and always wants to be with her big brother!

Just the best. Snuggly. Peaceful.

Grant's hard work and a sweet reminder that a little boy lives here!

He is such a good father and works so hard. The floor is his cubicle :)

If This Doesn't Make You Smile...

Come on, admit it...Grant made you smile today, didn't he? This made my day when it happened, and every day since that I've looked at it. For starters, it's nearly impossible for me to get a smile this big on camera...EVER. But can't you just see the pure enjoyment radiating from his little face!?
It all started at the family picnic Tim organized for his dad's side of the family at McCormick's Creek State Park on Sunday. I truly enjoy watching my kids run and play, but this was an especially fun time. I don't know what it was, but they just melted my heart. Hmmm, maybe it was partly to blame on the blazing heat that day, ha ha!
It didn't take them long to find their favorite toy...water! These two are going to team up against me, I just know it. One is never far behind the other, especially when it comes to things that make big messes! Don't you miss these types of times from your childhood? Not caring about how dirty you'll be when you're done playing, that your shoes are soaking wet and covered in mud, or how hot and sweaty you are? Oh, to be a kid again!

Cousins Sophie, Olivia, and Sophia. I see three great babysitters in our future!

Not to be outdone by her brother, Lilly was insistent on trying the big girl swing!

I'm thinking we need to invest in an outdoor water fountain for the yard! Indy might enjoy it too!

So this is pretty much how every picture attempt with Grant and I turn out. Makes me laugh!

I'm Over These Clothes

Oh, Miss Lilly...I guess you don't care for the way I dress you because you've been attempting to remove your shirts lately. Or maybe it didn't match your yellow shorts! Ask your daddy...it takes me FOREVER to dress even myself, so I'm still perfecting my new role as your stylist.

I absolutely love your independent personality and even though your stubbornness drives me crazy some days, I think it'll come in handy later in your life. We love you to pieces little girl!

The First Match

I imagine this won't be the last time they're at each other in some form, but at least this time they were really, really enjoying themselves. Lilly held her own! That's my girl :) And Grant was so gentle and sweet with his little sister. Have I mentioned before that I absolutely live for these moments??

Right where she wants him...a tight grip on his hair!
Get him girl!
