In the Mood Again

Finally! It hit me again. I want to bake. Well, and we didn't have any sweets in the house this week besides popsicles, which don't come close to chocolate in satisfying my sweet tooth. Bakerella was so kind to provide some much need inspiration and a post with you guessed it - chocolate...in the form of whoopie pies...heavenly.

I've made them before, but switched it up a little this time. Oh, and absolutely no low-fatness here! But, I have a plan for that. These cute little pies quickly leave the house in fancy plastic wrapped, paper plated goodness. I'm doing my part to ruin everyone else's diet plan :)
PS...the camera, which I saved from the garbage disposal, had a good day.

What's Wrong With This Picture?

No, really...what the heck is wrong with my camera?! Any photographers out there have suggestions on an affordable, digital camera that won't do this every time I try and capture a decent photo opp? Lilly has a transparent arm and I have two mouths. Sweet. My camera is possessed and I'm about to throw in down the garbage disposal.

Nana's Here!

This week, while Tim's off being a camp counselor, my mom has been visiting. What a HUGE help she's been! Grant and Lilly love having their Nana around. Lots of memories being created in their little brains. Grant and Nana made cake one day and chocolate pudding the next - I could get used to coming home to that all the time! As you can see, Lilly especially enjoyed sampling their work. Thanks Nana!

PJ Buddies

Why are toddler PJs so darn cute? I might be a little biased, but they're even cuter when there's a couple pairs right next to each other filled with lovable, squeezable, little Kegleys. Happiness...

Hugs from big brother

Hasn't quite perfected the hug yet!

Happy 4th!

It's become a 4th tradition that we end up at our friend's, the Delays, beautiful home on Geist for a pool party and cookout. It was our second holiday there as the Kegley clan of four and definitely one of my favorite memories as a family. Grant and Lilly both had a great time, enjoyed being in the water (yay for Lilly!!), the weather was absolutely perfect, and I even got to cuddle Lilly as she napped.
Oh, and another fun part - I made a new recipe to take to the cookout from Bakerella - Pillow Cookies. Brownies in the center of chocolate chip cookies. WOW, were they good, chewy, soft, perfect, huge...just make them. You'll be happy you did. I'd have a picture, but I didn't come home with any leftovers!
Admiring the regatta on Geist...wish I was out there!
Grant and Lilly's kisses make my day

A little big for it, but he LOVES it!

Hmmm...a common theme!

I'm That Mom

Have you ever been driving down the street and there passing you is a mom with a mini-van with stickers ALL OVER every inch of window the kids can reach from their car seat? Or maybe following a dusty, dirty SUV with hand prints and "wash me" scribbled on the tailgate? Yeah, I'm that mom, too. My car is abused! With chalk.

I hadn't realized how covered my car really was until I stopped at Panera yesterday to do work and came out to leave. I laughed and immediately went to grab my camera. The people sitting outside probably wondered why I had a childish grin on my face as I was standing there taking pictures of the mess that was my car in the middle of a parking lot.

But, like my last post, it was another moment that made me stop in my tracks and praise God for the gifts of Grant and Lilly. It literally makes me cry to think how blessed I am to have two little lives that I can love without reserve. With two very young children not every day is easy, not every moment is perfect, not every moment is chaos-free, but when the chalk-all-over-my-car moments happen I am grateful. Grateful for my children, but especially that God has given us SO MUCH in life to enjoy.
