No Stopping Her!

Although my brown-eyed, brunette baby girl looks nothing like me, there is no denying she is my daughter. She unfortunately seems to have inherited my impatience and never-sits-still craziness. Opposite end of the spectrum compared to her daddy!

This girl does NOT stop for anything. And when I say anything, I mean an awkward, heavy, rigid cast halfway up her little thigh...it's barely been slowing her down. Most adults would be whining up a storm, but she's her normal little self outside of scooting around on her butt or crawling. It's only a matter of time before she's walking on it. Keep Lilly down...no way!

The Color Purple

It's my favorite and has been since I was a little girl. Well, maybe until now...

Check out my baby girl. So sad! Yesterday was a little rough for Miss Lilly. She spent the morning with daddy and Grant and about an hour after I left the house for work I got a phone call.

There was an "issue" at home. I love my husband and his delicate ways of telling me something is wrong. Otherwise, he knows I'd freak out a little. Lilly had a little spill and wasn't interested in putting any weight on her foot. Not so bad...maybe she just twisted her ankle or sprained a toe. Maybe.

Then, I got the whole story: Lilly stepped on the pages of an open book, her feet flew out from underneath her, she was hysterical, and was not about to let Tim put her down to walk. Not looking good...

After seeing the pediatrician and getting a not-so-promising report, we ended up spending the afternoon at a fantastic orthopaedic walk-in clinic where she was seen really quickly and had x-rays. She was SO patient and brave (better than most adults even!) - I was amazed. I knew as soon as the x-ray popped up on the screen that we were in for a longer stay. My poor baby fractured her tibia (the big bone in her lower leg) and needed a cast. For 4-6 weeks. And halfway up her thigh. All because of a book!!!!

The doctor tried to reassure me this was a "common toddler injury"...I hope our streak ends with Lilly! Having two of our children in casts both before their second birthdays has not been our proudest parenting moment. Wish we could be there to catch them every time they fall!

I Waddle

I have no idea how I ended up in the third trimester, but it's here and I am thrilled!!! We're about 11 weeks away from meeting the newest little Kegley when our definition of chaos and sleepless nights will never look the same...we're crazy, I know this. I have people remind me of that almost on a daily basis!

Baby #3 and I have been sailing right along in the last few weeks. Passed my glucose test, found out I'm anemic (no big deal), and have gained 23 pounds - most of which I'd like to believe are thanks to my natural boob job, but my tightening jeans are telling me otherwise. The joys!!

So the funnest part has been the new waddle I'm rocking everywhere I go. The joint where my pelvis comes together is not behaving and causing me some terrible pain. The treadmill aggravates it, which is so not cool with me...I need the mental break that precious 45 minutes gives me. The only remedy my OB could give was a maternity support belt. Crazy thing about it, although it does kinda feel good, is that it accentuates my expanding muffin top that arrives on my waist right about now.

In the end, I still love being pregnant and will dearly miss these days when my baby is with me 24/7 no matter where I am or what I'm doing.

Hope everyone is having a great start to the week!

The Next Project

My dear friend, Jenn, is expecting her first child (YAY!!!) in July and I have the pleasure of making favors for her huge shower in May. She chose a Dr. Seuss theme, which I think is so fun and adorable, so naturally I had to step in with some buttery, sugary, iced-to-the-nines goodness. I found the idea from an amazing baking blog: Whimsy Cookie Co. Aren't they cute!?

I discovered the edible pen/marker to do some detail work with and I'm off and running! It looks perfect to replicate the sketch type of artwork in the books. Now, the only thing left to do is figure out how I'm going to get 90 individually wrapped cookie favors made in 2 or 3 days and carefully transported to Ohio at 37 weeks pregnant!

Don't worry Jenn...you know if anyone can do it, this never-sleeps, over-scheduled, can totally- run-on-empty-momma will find a way. And be happy the entire time! We're celebrating a sweet, new miracle named Bellamy, after all!

A happy Thing 1 and Thing 2!

Can't wait to do more fish in blue, yellow, and red!

One Step Closer!

So excited about this!!!!

If you remember my post in January about my 2011 goals, I mentioned that I was hoping for an opportunity to serve to come through that I had applied for in August last year with the church where we attend. I've heard a few things here and there about it since then, and had even gotten all the security/background clearances needed to do it, but felt that God was really closing the door on it and showing me it wasn't where he really wanted me at this point.

God kept laying on my heart over these last several months to keep pursuing and praying for opportunities anyway. I've felt like He's really been challenging me to be bold and seriously get out of my own little world. And to also be persistent in finding the right place to plug myself in no matter how long it meant waiting.

I FOUND IT!!!! Lots and lots of prayer and patience has led me to an amazing organization that the Indy dwellers will be familiar with: Wheeler Mission Ministries. Thanks to a friend's post on FB, I found out about a new ministry that will be starting later this month at the Women and Children's Center using Art Therapy. We're still working on details, but I'll be there every Saturday starting in three weeks!

Honestly, I am relying on God. I have absolutely no background in art and would say it's a huge stretch to consider myself anything close to creative. I've also never worked with homeless women and children. But, I have total faith that God has absolutely shown me this opportunity because He knows He can use me. I'm starting to realize that "taking a leap of faith" is exactly this...not knowing what I'll be doing, how I'll be reaching others, but having the faith that God will give me the words and actions to be His hands and feet. I am so humbled and honored to have the opportunity!

Praise Him for answered prayers!!!!! I'm sure I'll have lots more to tell you all when it gets going. Please be praying that we can reach these women in the name of Christ!

What's Your Vote?

I caved. I bought the sacred "going home" outfits for little Kegley #3 last week. Not that I really need any new clothes for the baby in newborn sizes either. If this one is anything like Grant and Lilly, they'll balloon into 3-6 months clothes by the 4th or 5th week anyway. Carter's sucked me in with the adorable hats and ultimately it's Kohl's fault for having ridiculous sales. I rarely shop, thanks to Dave Ramsey (I'm not complaining though...this is a VERY GOOD thing!), so it was fun to splurge...especially for one of my children!

So, what's your vote? Will baby be going home in pink or blue??

Random

I have no agenda for this post...just a few random thoughts I've had today while stealing wi-fi at Chick-Fil-A to do a few emails for work.

1. I am SUPER excited to a be a mom again! I get to nurse a baby again and spend the sweetest, most precious moments with a child any nursing mom knows. It really is such a privilege. I totally have a love affair with breastfeeding. I drug out my faithful pump from the closet this past weekend, cleaned it up, bought new spare parts, and now it sits on my kitchen counter waiting for a cute little bag to put it in. I'm done with the ugly, boring, black backpack it came in. I'm going to pump in style this time! I found this older, adorable pic of Grant's efforts to help out :)

2. As a pregnant woman, I like to find small ways to feel cute and sexy, because there's too many times I feel the complete opposite. This is so dorky, but I laughed at myself like crazy yesterday...so, I like to get dressed up to go to my OB appointments. I know...kinda dumb, but that way I feel "put together" for a moment even though I'm eating everything within my reach, sporting some sweet acne, and dealing with various other fun pregnancy side effects. It was all good and dandy and I felt so great yesterday until I got home to undress. My underwear were on inside out...yep, my cute lacy pink underwear, totally inside out. Bet my OB got a good laugh out of it too...

3. Do you know anyone that eats mustard on scrambled eggs?? Totally sat beside a woman today in IHOP that dumped a good 3 or 4 tablespoons of mustard all over her nice looking eggs. If I was still in my first trimester I might have puked right there at the table. YUCKO!!!!

4. This week, I have realized more than I have in a long time how blessed I have been by the women God has put in my life. Maggie B., Maggie J., and Liz T. - I love you guys.

Hope everyone is having a fantastic day today!

26 Weeks!!

Totally stealing this from Jenn, but I'm not feeling all that creative at the moment. Never done one of these so I thought it'd be fun!

How far along? 26 weeks to the day!

Baby's size? About a pound in weight and 14 inches long.

Weight Gain? 18 lbs and feeling great...off to a much better start than my pregnancies with Grant and Lilly!!

Maternity clothes? Yep! And thanks to a couple great friends I have lots more to choose from this time around!

Belly button in or out? Alien, just alien looking. Bleh!

Sleep? No issues, other than turning from side to side endlessly!

Foods I am loving? Carbs, carbs, carbs, and chocolate. This is why the gym is a must :)

Foods I am hating? I usually don't discriminate when I'm pregnant!

Best moment this week? Grant feeling the baby kick for the first time. A sweet and so memorable moment in my life.

Movement? This child is insanely active and kicks into even higher gear right before I want to go to bed. Let's hope that doesn't continue past June...

Symptoms? I'm rockin' the mask of pregnancy/acne on my cheeks that are now a beautiful rosy color 24/7. It's pretty.

Gender? Yep, should be one or the other :)

What I miss? Wrestling with the kids...mommy is fragile now!

What I'm looking forward to? Seeing if I get the redhead I ordered!

25 Weeks - getting ready for a date with my Timmy!

26 Weeks!!!
