Cupcake Mania
Saturday was our second round of "arts and crafts" time at Wheeler's Women and Children's Center and oh, it was a blast!! Lindsay and I decided to do a couple different activities, one of which was cupcake decorating. I figured it be especially fun for the kids and they seemed to LOVE it! I baked 7 dozen cupcakes and used about 8 pounds of powdered sugar for buttercream icing...the kitchen was a mess! About 5 of those dozen were decorated and eaten within 45 minutes :)

Belly Shots: Part 2
Here's a few of the rest of the fun maternity pictures...I felt like my belly was huge when we took these, but that was 5 weeks ago...I'm HUGE now!! Thanks again, to Theresa, my dear sorority sister, for capturing belly #3. I love that we have these memories to look back on! Less than 3 weeks now. Ummmmmmmm, someone please tell me where the time went!?

Unbelievably Proud!
After 3 years of hard work, dedication, and a work ethic like I've never seen Tim is officially a graduate of the IU School of Education! It's never easy being a full-time student, but he managed to do it all while staying at home with Grant and Lilly (which is really another full-time job in itself!), making the dean's list, coaching, being president of a student organization, and never letting me down as an amazing husband.
It was amazing to see him walk across the stage at the main ceremony...I was a little teary...but an even prouder moment during the School of Education's recognition program. Out of all the students graduating in the School of Education, one award is given to two students: the Jarboe Award - an award given to one elementary education graduate and one secondary education graduate. After already sitting for three hours I was a little zoned out while they were starting to announce it, but then I heard "and the 2011 recipient for secondary education is Timothy Paul Kegley". WOW!!!
I immediately jumped up to run (well, a fast waddle, really) to the front of the huge ballroom fighting tears to grab a picture of such a great moment for him. It's a faculty committee that selects the winner based on excellence in academics, campus and community leadership, and service. WOW, again!!! What a proud, proud moment - the award embodies everything Tim has become personally and professionally. Congratulations babe - I have no doubt the impact you have on your students will be incredible!

Huge sigh of relief...I did it!!! 60 detailed cookies iced, wrapped, delivered 3 hours away, and devoured. Success! What a wonderful day celebrating Bellamy's arrival in July! Congrats to Jenn and Jon!

My Young Athlete
I'm so proud of my baby boy! Grant participated in the Special Olympics Young Athletes program on Friday and did a great job!!! It was such a fun day and he had lots of support in the crowd with Lilly and both of his grandmothers there!
Young Athletes is a newer program for Indiana's Special Olympics organization and Grant was lucky enough to be a part of it. It's a program designed for children 2-7 with intellectual disabilities - in Grant's case his speech delay makes him eligible. There were at least 17 or 18 different special education preschool classes from all over Marion County - lots of energetic 3, 4, and 5 year olds!
Four other students from Grant's class were there and it was so fun to see him interact with his little friends. As you'll see from the pictures, Grant totally enjoyed himself and did a great job at all of the "events" they had planned for the athletes. He was so proud of the stars he collected for his name badge at each station and was a great cheerleader for his classmates.
Oh, I could go on and on...we are so humbled by the special services and opportunities Grant has received after being diagnosed with his speech delay (which is nothing compared to the challenges some of the other students are facing). Grateful doesn't even begin to describe how we feel to have a healthy, happy, sweet boy we're lucky enough to call our son!

Our Random Week
May has been a crazy month for us already and it shows no signs of slowing down! I'm 36 weeks pregnant this week (nervous? YES!), Grant had his last day of pre-school yesterday, Tim and I are going on a date night to the middle school's dance tomorrow night where he's student teaching, the kitchen is completely immersed in Dr. Seuss cookies for Jenn's shower this weekend, Tim and I are going to a wedding Saturday night, and he graduates on Sunday! Phew...good thing I'm not due for another 3+ weeks...hopefully!
So, I've really been savoring the last few weeks we have as a family of four and relishing in the attention I can still give to Grant and Lilly right now. My only real fear of being a mama of 3 little ones is not having enough time for each of them, but then I think about how I feared that right before Lilly was born. I cried constantly about Grant not being my baby anymore and him feeling less loved. It was a really strange place to be emotionally and I'm somewhat there again. But, thankfully God has this great plan for mothers and fathers...He miraculously multiplies the love you have for each of your children even as he divides it. What a blessing!
With our busy weeks ahead, they'll be lots to post about! Hope you're all having a blessed day!

A Visual Reminder
I might be trying to make myself crazy with this latest project - a string of paper rings to countdown to the little one's arrival. Not that I need a visual reminder of how many days I DON'T have left to prepare for this new chapter, but the kids love it! They were so cute helping me color the rings and, as you can see from his adorable smile, Grant was especially excited to hang it up. I'm hoping it helps them connect with what's about to go down...in 34 days. Eeek!!

Belly Shots
A couple weekends ago the kids and I took a little roadtrip to visit my parents in Columbus. It was great not only because I got to spend time with them, but I got to visit my sorority sisters Jenn (who's pregnant, too) and Theresa while I was there. Good news about Theresa - she's a budding (and talented!) photographer...and she was willing to have some fun with Jenn and I and do maternity photos.
We drug our happy, pregnant bellies all over downtown Columbus on a very rainy and cold day, but had a blast! If you know Columbus at all you'll recognize some of the areas. We stopped for ice cream at Jenni's in the Short North (mandatory pregnant pit stop), found some fun brick walls along the way, walked up on the cute little Goodale Park, and then headed over to the Statehouse to finish our night. Theresa prefers natural light, which I think looks so good...she did a great job rain, wind, and all! Thanks Theresa!

Crunch Time
How far along? 34 weeks to the day!
Baby's size? Almost 5 pounds. Fatten up in there baby!
Weight Gain? 30 lbs and still feeling great! I'm total proof that your body is going to do what it needs to regardless of how hard you try not to gain a ton of weight...I've worked out at least 4 days a week since I found out I was pregnant and I'll still manage to gain about 35 or 40 lbs by the end of it. Totally worth it though!
Maternity clothes? Ready to say goodbye to them!
Belly button in or out? The Alien Belly Button is ridiculously out of control at this point. There's no hiding or containing this thing.
Sleep? If you follow my blog you know how awesome that's going in the Kegley house. Oh well...in six weeks I'll pretty much be up 24/7 anyway :)
Foods I am loving? Wavy Lay's, french onion dip, and Orange Fanta...guess that could partially explain the weight gain!!
Foods I am hating? Chicken. Yuck
Best moment this week? Getting a pedicure with my favorite ladies over the weekend to celebrate this precious baby.
Movement? Come on over for party time which begins every night at 7 or 8pm. I need to take video of the dance moves in my belly - even after three pregnancies it still fascinates me.
Symptoms? A huge belly and insane nesting. Love it
Gender? Mostly convinced we'll be returning the pink to Kohl's, but the jury is still out.
What I miss? Sleeping. Soundly. I don't remember what that's like. Maybe pre-2007...
What I'm looking forward to? Giving birth naturally again. I know...crazy, but it's truly a beautiful thing. I'll fill you in on that in another post sometime.
